Waiters take orders on a tablet or a shared terminal. The POS tracks what is open, what is paid and what is owed. At the end of a shift the drawer is counted and closed, and the numbers are already in the same system the owner reads in the morning.
Charging to a staying guest
If the guest is staying with you, the order can be charged to their room. It posts to their folio immediately and appears on their bill at checkout with everything else. No paper chits carried to reception, no retyping at midnight.
Why one ledger matters at closing time
Restaurant charges, room revenue, day passes and deposits all run through one ledger with a single writer. That is a technical decision with a practical result: the restaurant total and the folio total cannot drift apart, because they are the same records.
Hotels running a separate POS spend the last hour of every day making two systems agree. This removes that hour.
Who uses it on a shift
Restaurant staff turn over a shared terminal constantly, so FluxPMS supports PIN login rather than a full logout and login between people. Touch targets are sized for a tablet at a service station, not a mouse.
